Morning Green Smoothie

There is no one size fits all diet. Your dietary or nutritional needs depend on a number of factors like genes, background, age, lifestyle, health status, gender. And they can change throughout life. It is important to balance macronutrients (fats, proteins, and carbohydrates) and ensure that you are taking in enough micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) as well. When working with clients to balance their macro nutrients, I taking into consideration their medical history, the symptoms they are struggling with, and their health goals. I really like this smoothie recipe because it can easily be adjusted for the nutrient balancing that you are working toward.

Morning Green Smoothie

½ C frozen fruit

½ banana

1 handful of baby greens – spinach, chard, kale

1 – 2 T Collagen Peptides (1 T provides 6 grams of protein)

1 – 2 tsp MCT oil  ~or~  1 T almond butter

½ C unsweetened almond or hemp milk

Water

Place all of the ingredients except for the water into a blender. Blend the ingredients well and add water to make the consistency thinner or thicker depending on your preference. Pour into a large glass and enjoy!
